Flexible power quality expertise on your project as and when you need it.
And not in between.
From project inception...
through connection contract negotiation (yes, it can be negotiated)...
to compliant design, and post-connection support.
Every stage benefits from the knowledge and experience of having someone who
understands the process—from the utility's perspective—on the project team,
to intervene when necessary, and to steer things in the right direction.
This person does not need to be a full-time employee.
Support can be procured in a number of flexible ways:
Purely ad-hoc: send a question or document to review as and when you need it;
Pre-book my ad-hoc availability for the whole lifecycle of your project; or
Recruit me as a virtual member of your project team.
No tie-ins...
but I will be kept up to date on project progress
through inclusion in meeting minutes and project updates.
I will advise on when I can add value, and intervene when appropriate.
I will be up to date and available to provide support to your project when you need it.
I can work closely with your engineers on their connection negotiations,
system study specification, model building, simulation strategy and delivery,
power quality monitoring specification and data analysis and compliance testing.
At every stage my focus will be on steering the project to reduce your risk exposure
through application and transfer of my knowledge and experience to your project team.
As well as offering complete power quality studies and support for connection compliance,
I can also work alongside a larger consultancy, or your principal design contractor,
to fill any knowledge gaps, or to offer independent third-party review of study findings,
to contribute to interpretation of findings and to form strategy based on study findings
that leads to cost-effective and low-risk design.
This is the sort of thing that I do.
The best way to learn is from experience and mentoring...
I can train your power system engineers and managers in the art of harmonic analysis,
positioning and strategy for risk-minimisation and cost efficiency of design.
I can help you to confidently demonstrate Grid Code connection compliance for power quality.
If you have a small windfarm or non-linear load connecting
to the DNO, then you may have a contract that attempts to pass
all of the voltage waveform quality risk for the local system onto your connection.
I can help you to negotiate a sensible, risk-reflective connection contract
and provide advice and analysis that may (site-specific) indicate
a defensible mitigation-free compliant connection.
